AWVN That's why - Nine reasons te become a member (2013)
More than 850 individual companies and trade associations are affiliated to AWVN. They encompass large and small organisations operating in the services sector, industry and the non-profit sector and together employing some two million people. The position adopted by AWVN is unique compared to that of other consultancy bodies working in the field of labour relations and employment conditions. Its associative character means there is a deep-rooted basis for trust between the central office organisation and the members, and among the members themselves. This results in AWVN gaining wide-ranging access to companies’ information and successfully turning this information into services with an added value.
AWVN also plays a major role in the Polder Model. AWVN maintains close relations with VNO-NCW (the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers), the political advocate of corporate Holland, is a recognised and valued interlocutor of the trade unions, and has a seat on numerous boards, committees
and consultative bodies, including the SER (the Social and Economic Council). AWVN thus has the right channels at its disposal to enable it to actively help create and maintain an employer-friendly socio-economic climate.

The art of negotiation based on enduring industrial relations (2012)
Negotiations on terms of employment deserve a better image. As a rule the spotlight mainly tends to be placed on collective bargaining that is laborious and characterised by threats. And yet the vast majority of such negotiations between employers and employees pass off in a highly constructive atmosphere. That is also the atmosphere pervading this book and characterising the negotiation method that AWVN uses in training sessions and in practice: our approach is based on the philosophy of constructive dialogue.

The Labour Aspects of Reorganisations (2009)
A reorganisation is a complex, delicate process both from the point of view of company management and from the point of view of the employees and employee representatives. A successful reorganisation depends to a large extent on how much effort management puts into the preparatory phase and immerses itself in the interests of the parties involved. When a reorganisation is being planned, a number of statutory rules and rules of ‘unwritten law’ require to be observed in the Netherlands. An open approach to the subject has developed over the years in Dutch labour relations. The Labour Aspects of Reorganisations examines the obligation for the employer to consult with employees representatives, the dismissal procedure and the social plan/redundancy scheme.

Outsourcing in the Netherlands. Terms & Benefits and Labour Law Aspects; an Aid to Employers (2008)
Gives an overview of the terms & benefits and labour law aspects of outsourcing. It provides an aid to employers on the threshold of an outsourcing project. We speak here emphatically about an aid and not a manual or a guide. The complexity of the material and the variety of circumstances inherent in most outsourcing projects demand individual solutions. The brochure deals only with outsourcing projects which fall completely within the jurisdiction of Dutch law, i.e. that the parties involved in the outsourcing project – both insourcer and outsourcer – are situated in the Netherlands.
Price Members and members of associated organisations free of charge. Only available as PDF. This publication is not available for third parties. Orders AWVN employer’s desk +31 70 850 86 05 or werkgeverslijn@awvn.nl
