Membership and fees

• Normal membership
This means full membership. Every company or industry association in the Netherlands can immediately join AWVN. In return for the membership fee members receive all AWVN services. Members may further make unlimited use of the paid consultancy services of AWVN. Full members have the right to vote within the association and they qualify for official seats on the board. For more information on this matter please refer to AWVN’s articles of association and its rules. Copies are obtainable from the AWVN Employers’ Line, werkgeverslijn@awvn.nl.

• Prospective membership
This is a special kind of membership for companies and industry associations that, ahead of possible full membership, want to familiarise themselves with the paid services of AWVN. Companies and industry associations may register as prospective members only if they simultaneously contract AWVN to perform a reasonable consultancy job.
Other conditions and rules:
• prospective membership may not last more than six months;
• cancellation is subject to notice of at least one month before expiry of the term of prospective membership*
• unless cancelled on time the prospective membership will automatically be converted to normal membership, after which the conditions applicable to normal membership will apply;
• companies and industry associations may take advantage of prospective membership once only;
• prospective members do not pay any membership fees;
• prospective members receive the same paid member services as normal members;
• prospective members cannot vote and do not qualify for official seats on the board.
* If a prospective member decides against normal membership and cancels while a consultancy job is in progress, AWVN will complete the job in accordance with the offer that it is submitted. If this occurs, AWVN will bill a 10% surcharge on the work that its performs for the job after expiry of the maximum term of prospective membership.

• Membership fees in 2011 for full members
The fee is set based on the organisation’s total wage and salary bill in the preceding year (e.g. the 2011 fee is based on the total wage and salary bill in 2010, column 14 of the summary payroll statement). AWVN membership includes membership of VNO-NCW for which the extra contribution equals 0.46 per mil of the total wage and salary bill. Industry associations or companies already directly or indirectly (via an industry association) affiliated to VNO-NCW are exempted from this contribution.

Signup fee
The signup fee is € 1,250 in the year of joining.
